Amazon sells N810 almost for free!

Hi all,

Well, "free" in this case is actually $227, but anyway it means that those of us who can't wait until Maemo5-equipped device is released can have something right now.

I've been following the news about buy.com prices, but it was not available for non-US people. Amazon fixed this injustice :)

  1. Why?

    "Product Details

    * Product Dimensions: 9.4 x 7.5 x 3.1 inches ; 4 pounds
    * Shipping Weight: 1.6 pounds (View shipping rates and policies)
    * Shipping: Currently, item can be shipped only
    within the U.S.

I don't see the change, they keep the restrictions on shipping only to the U.S.

  2. Oh, hell! There was no any sign of "US-only" at Amazon and I did not proceed with checkout, so I assumed that everything was fine Such a shame on me for bringing this false news :(

  3. Still €311/$398 here. Even the N800 is €229/$293. :(

Yeah, it's strange that Nokia, being European company, set such a big prices. I understand taxes and stuff, but no 311 euro...

P.S. iirc Samsung has a policy of equal prices for all regions. But there is no Samsung tablets with Linux.

  5. It's $250 on eBay + worldwide shipping is avaliable.
Amazon's attractive only until reaching shipping details.

  6. 2C.K: But I've had no shipping problems with books from Amazon so far.
Even after moving from Ukraine to Netherlands I still have this feeling that only US people can use Internet services :(

  7. The "problem" at Amazon has been there for a while. In fact I thought the reason why they had lower prices in the U.S. was because they got the N810 WiMax edition (which was a competition to the N810) on offer, but now, with the N810WX not longer on sale the only reason would be the incoming launch of the N900 (Is it coming soon? some are speculating it is in February) but that would apply worldwide, not just in the U.S.

Well, I was thinking: And what about a P.O. Box in the U.S.? Does Amazon ships to P.O. Boxes? Because maybe that is the answer.

  8. I'm not sure if P.O.Box is a reliable way. Though never used it. I'll better check eBay this evening.
